2nd Annual Kick-Off Kook-Off
Thursday, SEPTEMBER 25, 2008 6-8pm
The purpose of this event is to raise money for the Emporia Greensville Civic Center Foundation Capital Campaign Fund; to host an annual competition highlighting a local commodity; to provide visibility and publicity for local civic groups and the annual Virginia Peanut Festival; and to provide an evening of family-friendly entertainment.
Peanut Recipe Kook-Off in three (3) different categories: Main Dish, Appetizer/Side Dish/Sauce, and Desserts. Kooks are asked to prepare peanut dish for taste testing by the public audience who will judge the best dish in each category. Prizes to be awarded to top three (3) finalists in each category and a "Nutty Prize" for the strangest/most creative recipe. There is a $10.00 entry fee per recipe. Each entry free includes one (1) free tasting kit.
